The Resilient Heart: A Day of Restoration through Mindfulness & Meditation

Saturday, August 13
9:30am-4:30pm
$45

In the midst of the Vietnam war, Thich Naht Hanh and his peaceful army of monks and nuns and volunteers went out into the villages day after day to help the villagers repair and restore. But one day a week, they stayed in the monastery for a day of mindfulness to rest and restore themselves – to heal their own suffering.
This is a wisdom we can learn much from.
With the growing challenges we face with climate change, Covid, war, and political unrest, we too need such a day of rest and restoration.

This one-day retreat will offer each of us the opportunity to soothe and soften our hearts, opening us with kindness and compassion to our own suffering and supporting the natural arising of resilience that mindfulness cultivates.

In this day of rest and restoration, we will come back to the basic practice of mindfulness through sitting and walking meditation and mindful movement. There will be brief teachings and talks and guided meditation throughout the day. This day of practice will allow us to touch our own sadness, grief, and anger with kind awareness and acceptance and to support the spontaneous arising of peace and joy found in our deepest springs of healing.

Come give yourself the gift of true rest and restoration on Saturday, August 13th, from 9:30 to 4:30. This one-day retreat can be the culmination of the 4-week program “The Resilient Heart: Mindfulness and Meditation for Challenging Times” or can stand alone as a single day-long event.

This day will be offered on-line through zoom.
Scholarships are available and a 50% discount is available for MBSR Grads.
