BIO:
Jenn Thomas is a seeker, an artist, a life guide, offering support on the journeys of spiritual awakening and psychological healing, as well as an impassioned yoga practitioner & teacher, community leader and social justice advocate. She has long had a passion for unearthing what lies beneath the surface and an uncanny ability to get to the heart of the matter. A natural innovator with a unique & creative visioning capacity, whatever the project, Jenn has spearheaded multiple efforts in the local RI Yoga community with an interest in supporting the growth of yoga in underserved communities & offering respite to those in need. From her work with city donation-based Yoga Studio, Southside, to co-founding a small socially conscious org, Community Matters, creating partnerships between the Yoga community and small nonprofits with local & distinct service missions, To her Covid prompted and growing Feeding Families Project now Initiative to work in collaboration with local food resources to help eliminate food insecurity for a small number of families who fall through the cracks, to offering trainings, immersions & retreats collaboratively through Bhāvana School of Yoga Jenn is dedicated to service, learning & love.

She is deeply influenced by the healing & awakening practices of her root teacher Jennifer Welwood, alongside the dynamic teachings of Gregory Kramer, a pioneer of relational meditation practices & Insight Dialogue, Sarah & Ty Powers Insight Yoga Institute, Lorin Roche & Camille Maurine of Instinctive Meditation & Tantric Wisdom, and the Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy Model - mentors David Stern, Pam Krause, Jim Andralis and the inimitable Dick Schwartz. …and is ever grateful for the ongoing support from friend & mentor Maya Breuer & colleague Joan Dwyer. Jenn remains humbled by the vibrant and alive work of so many wise beings who have brought eastern & indigenous wisdom traditions & teachings to light for the benefit of the many - the list is long.

She holds a BS in Applied Arts, Sculpture & Painting from Skidmore College, is a level 2 IFS trained Practitioner in private practice & has over 3 decades of practice & trainings in the ever-changing landscape of Yogic & Buddhist Study. Jenn is a 4 time business owner, glass blower, painter & people person. She loves collaborative work, and is not shy about the current climate of challenge & change in our world.
