Loving Kindness Meditation & Gentle Yoga with Guided Relaxation

Kim Chandler

Loving-kindness, also known as metta, is the intentional cultivation of an unconditional heart towards yourself and the world. Rather than a passive emotion, it is an active practice of wishing well being, safety and peace to everyone, starting with yourself and expanding outward to loved ones and strangers, even to those who challenge you.

People practice loving kindness because it radically transforms their relationship with the world. It breaks down walls of isolation, softens sharp edges of anger and criticism, and rewires the brain for empathy and resilience. Ultimately it is practiced because it replaces our default reactivity with profound inner peace, proving that compassion is not a weakness, but a fierce and healing strength.

The afternoon will include loving kindness instruction, practice, discussion, gentle yoga and guided relaxation.
